Butter 1/2 cup
Sugar 1/4 cup
All purpose flour 1cup
Baking soda 1/8 tsp
Vanilla 1 tsp
Milk 2 tbsp
Walnuts finally crushed 1/2cup
Few walnut halves for decoration


Cream butter and sugar together. Sieve flour and soda and mix it to the butter mixture adding 1tbsp milk and vanilla essence. Fold in walnuts. Dust your work surface with little flour and roll the dough into a cylinderical shape. Wrap in cling film or foil and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
Preheat the oven at 170c for 10 minutes. Line a baking tray with parchment paper
Take out the dough from fridge and cut 1/4″ equal discs. Put it on a lined baking sheet leaving little space in between. Sprinkle little milk over each disc and press a walnut half.
Bake for 15 minutes at 170c and let it cool in the tray itself for 2-3 minutes and then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Store in an airtight jar.
