When oranges are plentiful in winter season make these super easy and delicious orange peels. They are great on their own but also make sweet addition to your cakes, cookies and desserts. It is time consuming but so worth the effort.
Oranges 8
Sugar 300gms
Lemon juice 1tbsp
Water as required
Peel oranges and boil the peel in enough water for 7-8 minutes. Throw the water and wash the peel in cold running water. Scrape the white portion with a knife and wash again.
Take a heavy bottomed pan add sugar and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil. Add peel and let it simmer for 10 minutes. Remove and keep aside for few hours or overnight. Put the peel in an airtight jar in the fridge. These peels will be sticky not dry.
