Crispy Rava Onion Dosa
Rava onion dosa is most ordered and popular South Indian dish at any restaurant. It can be served as breakfast or as dinner. It is an instant made dish made with rava, rice and all purpose flour.Onions and green chillies gives a flavourful crunch to this simple dish. You can serve it with sambar and coconut chutney.
- Roasted Rava - 1cup
- Rice Flour - 1/4 cup
- Flour - 2 tbsp
- Onion - 1chopped
- Green chillies - 2 chopped
- Coriander leaves - 2tbsp chopped
- Salt - To taste
- Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
- Oil - As required
- Curry leaves - 8-10
- Water or buttermilk - 4cups
In a large mixing bowl stir together rava (semolina) rice flour and all purpose flour.Add salt and water and make a thin batter. There should not be any lump. Try to make dosas immediately otherwise the batter will becomes thick. We need thin batter for the dosas.
Add curry leaves and chilli powder.
Heat a griddle and sprinkle some water. Let it sizzle.Immediately pour thin batter in a circular motion by rotating the pan.
Sprinkle onion and chillies.Drizzle oil around the dosa.No need to flip it.
Cook till it turns crispy. Fold and remove to a plate.Make all the dosas like this.Every time wait the PAN to get hot and sprinkle water and then pour the batter.Prepare all the dosas and serve with sambar and chutney of your choice.
